| Here are a few of the more memorable pictures from some of my
summits.
It only took two attempts to make it to the top of this mountain. The first year, we turned around at 12,300' due to weather. That was a hard decision, but during our second attempt, the weather was phenomenal. We climbed it on nearly the same weekend in June, but this years attempt had 40% of the snow from the previous year.
It took three attempts before I finally made it to the top of this one. This was an extremely memorable climb, as this was one of my dads favorite mountains to climb. I wish we could have made it to the top together.
This is currently my favorite overnight mountain climb. It has been such a treat every time I have climbed it.
I have summited this mountain three out of four attempts in just over two years, and the one failed attempt got us 300' from the summit. I have a feeling this will be on my most climbed list soon, overriding the dozen or so easy climbs up Lassen Peak.
These mountains have some of the most awesome scenery with the mountains so close together. At the end of summer, this is no more than a strenuous hike.
This was not a lot of fun on talus. I vowed to only climb this mountain on snow from now on. I would have still liked more snow, but the climb had perfect weather and views, and was the first group of Mazamas that I led from the parking lot to the top.
This was the first climb I assisted that counts towards Mazama leadership development. It was a great group of people and we had a lot of fun.
Another great Mazama climb. My family was staying at a youth camp at the lake shown above while I climbed the mountain. |
